Are Private Tutors worth it?

Are Private Tutors worth it? :  Most parents in India feel like it’s a must to go to tuition or have a private tutor. This practice is so common now that there are home tutors in BorivaliEksar, Magathane, and many more small towns like these.

Home tutors are teachers that are hired by a certain family to teach children or a child of that family. They teach in the houses of those people who hire them. A private tutor can become very important for a child since they spend a lot of time with them.

Therefore, it is very important to get a well qualified and friendly tutor if there are plans to do so.

Over the past years, there are over 100 private tutors in Borivali which is generally a small town. This shows how much they are growing in India. In India specifically, once a child reaches 8th grade, he is sent to a tuition center or has a private tutor ready. As the syllabus increases and competition arises, parents prefer tuition.NSSO, National Sample Survey Office conducted a survey that stated that every one out of four students in India studies with a private tutor.

As far as countries like Europe, the US, and Australia are concerned, students there prefer studying at home by themselves or getting help from online tutors.

Are Private Tutors worth it?

This depends on the tutor but generally speaking, yes, Home Tutors are better for numerous reasons like:

  • Less Travel

Home tutors conduct their classes in the student’s home which stays convenient for them and helps save time because they don’t have to travel much.

  • Less Exhausting

Students usually tend to get back home spending 6-7 hours at school to go to tuition centers and then go back home which is not just time-consuming but exhausting as well. They are given less time to finish tuition and school homework. This leaves students with no time for themselves. Are Private Tutors worth it

  • Proper Attention Dedicated

Home tutors tutor one or two children. The fewer number of children the more attention they are able to give to each child making sure if the topic is understood or not. And because there are not a lot of students, children are able to easily ask questions and share their opinions.

  • Choosing Tutors

Parents can choose tutors based on their experience and professionalism. They can have demo classes with a certain tutor making sure if they are good for their children.

Many more advantages like fewer distractions, personalized teaching, etc. are why home tutors are generally better.

Now, since the Internet is easily available and the majority of people, including students, have phones or laptops, gaining information is not very hard. There are plenty of apps that offer tutoring and clearing doubts.

Though not every child prefers home tutors. Some children love going out and travelling to tuition centers. Many parents neglect this and still hire a tutor. This may lead to the child feeling caged. It really depends on what the child needs and how he feels about this.
