JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025 has been revised. JEE Main 2025 exam is going to be conducted in a different pattern for Paper 1, Paper 2A, and 2B. As per the revised JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025 Since 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA), under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, has managed the Joint Entrance Examination. For the next JEE Main 2025, NTA will soon release the date when online registration starts. In this update, there is something more about the structure of the exam and how it has changed this time.
JEE Main Exam Paper Pattern 2025 Highlights
The JEE Main exam for 2025 consists of Paper 1, which is for admission to undergraduate engineering programs and serves as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, and Paper 2, which is for admission to B.Arch. and B.Planning courses. Paper 1 includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with 90 questions in total.

Temporary COVID-19 Changes Now Removed
Dealing with disruptions the pandemic caused, NTA also introduced flexible question options for JEE Main. For the help of the disturbed students who were really facing tough times because of the pandemic disruption, they were given freedom in option choices from the year 2021, wherein the students were given 5 questions out of 10 in each of the subjects in Section B. However, the World Health Organization removed COVID-19 from its list of public health emergencies on May 5, 2023. This has led to NTA removing the flexible question option for JEE Main 2025.
What’s New in the JEE Main 2025 Syllabus?
The original question pattern will be restored:
- There will be 5 questions only in Section B of each subject.
- All the 5 questions in Section B are compulsory to be attempted.
- There is no option to leave any question or choose any question for attempting.
This pattern will be followed for:
- Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech
- Paper 2A for B.Arch
- Paper 2B for B.Planning
